Being Active

In a world of modern technology and convenience we are slowly becoming an age of sitters. We sit at our computers, we sit on our sofas, we sit in our cars, we even sit whilst doing the weekly food shop. Everything is available to us in just a click, we don't even need to leave the house. And while modern technology is amazing, it is causing us to become lazy (sorry).

Now we're not saying you need to join a gym or embark on a boot camp style fitness regime but we are saying that if we want to be healthy and happy we need to incorporate more activity into our daily lives.

 

  • Going for a brisk walk can increase your heart rate, produce endorphins and clear your head

  • Exercise such as Yoga will improve flexibility, strengthen and tone your muscles and allow you to connect with your inner body

  • Joining a dance class with friends will improve coordination and burn calories whilst having fun

There are so many activities you can do that are enjoyable and effective, you just have to find what works for you. If you're a stay-at-home mum take the kids to the park and run around with them, or put on an exercise DVD and work out in your front room.

Exercise

If you've got a busy job try going for a walk on your lunch break (I'm sure you will find your afternoon will be a lot more productive), try walking to work or go to a class on your way home from work.

Find out if there are any regular netball or football groups in your area, or try something like horse riding or dry slope skiing.

 

Whatever it is you want to do, just give it a go. Build activity into your routine,

make time for yourself and you never know you could make new friends or discover a hidden talent. 

​

As a member of The 321 Effect you will be encouraged to partake in six 30 minute activity sessions per week, that's just 3 hours! You can do anything you like, whenever you like, the choice is yours.

 

Our new website will feature the tools you need to incorporate activity into your daily routine and create new lasting habits. It will feature lots of exercise plans and videos, local classes and all of the information you need to create your new active lifestyle.
